The FOIed documents on IFSC lobbying at DoF have been uploaded here, if you missed them. http://www.scribd.com/doc/91354148/FOI-DeptFinance-Childers

She also has the submissions to the Corporate Consilidation Act back in 2001 - 2003 when they succeeded in preventing the enactment of Directors Compliance statements. Which she says "could well have prevented the like of Fitzpatrick's actions and certainly would have made them a criminal offence."

Hi Conor McCabe,

Do you have an email address? I saw something, that made me very curious, might have been useful for your last book, of course it might be innocent enough , or completely none of my business.....

Pearson are New Zealand’s largest educational publisher of primary and secondary titles. We are currently doing a book on Irish History for students aged 15-16 years.

Our author has included a photograph of Conolly and his family that is on your website. I am wondering if you can advise where we go to get permission to use this photo or is it out of copyright?

thanks Anne

Ireland must now pay more than Greece to borrow.

Dublin has played by the book. It has taken pre-emptive steps to please the markets and the EU. It has done an IMF job without the IMF. Indeed, is has gone further than the IMF would have dared to go.

It has imposed draconian austerity measures. The solidarity of the country has been remarkable. There have no riots, and no terrorist threats.

(No relation to David) thanks to my mate Micheal Wlaker for fwd this to me - interesting. If it wernt for Connelly the Proclaimation of Independence would'ive been dour - instead it remains one of the most fwd thinking pieces to this day. "... the republic guarantees religious and civil liberty, equal rights and equal opportunities for all her citizens... elected by the sufferages of all her men and women..."

And the Irish Citizens Army was the only armed trade union movement in Europe - heaven. Connelly and big Jim Larkin put a shiver up the bosses. What a pity we cant do that to the Bankers today....
