[Thanks to Dave for the single]
Autobop is remembered now for its bass player and singer, John Byrne, who changed his name to George Byrne and became a music journalist with Hot Press and the Evening Herald.
The excellent IrishRock.org has the following about the band:
This was a guitar quartet from the Crumlin/Dolphin’s Barn area of Dublin. […]

We’ve just been informed that Colm Hall’s song Arán na Fiends, which was championed by Dublin Opinion in a post last week, has come second in the Irish Times’ alternative national anthem competition.
According to the Irish times today,
Also a runner-up was Colm Hall (aka The Drop of a Hat), whose entry mixed a hummable tune […]

Again, no information here except what’s on the cover.
I’m not sure if this is a demo. It kinda has the feel of a cassette E.P.
Anyway, not exactly my type of music, but it is reflective of the type of stuff being produced in Ireland in the 1980s.

According to Irish Rock discography, the Secret Goldfish were possibly an ‘Atrix related band from the mid-80s?´
I’m afraid there is absolutely no information with the demo, which was recorded on a computer cassette tape (one to explain to the kids, that).

The Boneshakers were fronted by Dave Finnegan and were probably Ireland’s first psychobilly band. They lasted less than a year, but in that time managed to play venues such as the Ivy Rooms and The Underground. They didn’t make any other recordings except this demo. The line-up was:
Dave Finnegan - Vocals
Willo O’Brien - Bass
Dermot Free** […]

I know nothing about this band, except that they were based in Dublin c.1984. I don’t know if they played any gigs. The demo comes from a bag of tapes a friend of mine found in his attic. Thanks again Dave for passing them on.
The names on the demo are (I think):
John Lalor
Steve Potter
Andy Skerritt
Luke […]

[Thanks to Dave Kelly for the demos.]
According to Irish Punk and New Wake Discography, the Outpatients were:
[a] Finglas area quartet who recorded some demo tapes in 1987-88 described as ‘infectious’ by Hot Press. They appeared on Danceline’s Swimming Out of the Pool compilation in 1988, had a single on Danceline in 1989, and split in […]
