Where the name Dublin Opinion came from?

I started this website when I found out about the magazine Dublin Opinion and I thought it made a great URL. The fact that so few people under the age of 45 seems to know about the original publication is amazing. I’m not over 45 and I only found out by chance. When I talked to people slightly older than myself about it they went ‘oh yea, Dublin Opinion? Yea, that’s really well known’.

Dublin Opinion considered itself to be the Humourous Journal of Ireland and ran continuously from 1923 to 1968. It was highly successful in its day and its political cartoons are peppered through Irish history books dealing with the 20th Century. For more about it go here.
