You know, for a deal that was supposedly forced on us by dose dam Rupeans in de Easy Bee they’re doing a pretty good job of pulling the wool over our eyes and acting as if this was another stoke, another act of self-preservation, pulled by the Irish moneyed classes, same as the bank guarantee in 2008.

I’ve been saying for the last fortnight that the ECB hadn’t agreed to the deal and that Bundesbank opposition could end up scuppering it. Amidst all the revelry and back-slapping, no-one seemed to be listening.

But then again Mutti (Frau Dr. Merkel - one of the few remaining CDU politicians that probably does have a genuine doctorate) probably would discourage any smearing of the lands where ‘austerity is working’.
