CONSTANTIN GURDGIEV, HYPOCRITE
Sep 27th, 2012 by Conor McCabe
Almost given up trying to explain how much this guy is a right-wing extremist but somehow he seems to have convinced people that he’s on their side. He may pat you on the back at the rallies, but inside he’s fucking laughing at you. Anyway, all of this from Constantin Gurdgiev, 19 December 2009, writing in Business and Finance so, you know, his audience aint exactly Argos and Lidl.
- government deficit to be cut by €10 billion in 2010 alone
- The solution to long-term unemployment is to cut welfare, thus forcing people back into the jobs market.
- those on welfare receive payments equivalent to 70 per cent of the average industrial wage.
- Airport levies and charges must be slashed to stimulate travel and alleviate pressure on our middle classes.
- PRSI to be slashed ‘completes the picture.’
In the final quote below, from October 2009, Gurdgiev is calling for the fiscal contraction ‘pain’ that we’re now going through - and which he’s now fucking opposing.
Not only an extremist but a hypocrite as well.
Utterly charming.

Don’t give up ….. some more of CG’s inner thoughts … CG forecasts in 2006 that it would be the ’socialists’ would wreck the celtic tiger http://issuu.com/stockholmnetwork/docs/sotu2008/30?mode=a_p pp 28-29
and I don’t think he ever was a fan of people on welfare http://www.lrinka.lt/n/index.php/papers_presentations/irish_experience_in_tax_competitiveness_did_fiscal_policy_follow_the_markets_or_vice_versa/2784 he had some radical ideas about outlawing trade unions too
This guy was a darling media a couple of years a couple of years ago when he seemed to have the answer to all of our problems, but he seems to have gone to ground recently. Is it only since he went into business with a certain Mr Ganley?
You really have to think twice about all of these opinionated experts who would have you believe they have your interests at heart.
Thank you for opening my eyes over the recent past.
p.s forgot to mention about the guys at the Cato Institute that are friends with our CG ” But, as a friend of mine from Ireland explains, there’s no way to kick the can down the road. Here’s some of what Constantin Gurdgiev wrote for Canada’s Globe and Mail”

I was looking for an article he wrote on regime change in the Ukraine, but it is now missing from the Open Republic site.
The political tendency that wants mortgage write off for the middle classes (and that talks up burning bondholder debt) alongside wage, benefit and service cuts, is a populist right wing tendency.
