LENIN WITH RODDY CONNOLLY IN 1920
Aug 28th, 2012 by Conor McCabe
No photoshop this time but a real record of a real event - Roddy Connolly meeting Lenin in petrograd (Saint Petersburg) in 1920. It’s from Roddy Connolly that the story that Lenin spoke English with a hint of a Rathmines accent comes from. Photo taken from Emmet O’Connor’s Reds and the Green.
Not a f**king Blueshirt in sight.

I was reading a testimonial of Seán Núnan (secetary to dev on his trip to the states) & it seems like dev did the loan to Russia in the delegation in New York & subsequently picked up the jewels I think it was Harry Boland was the bag man who took them back here . Enda should really source his material properly those speech writers (spads) get € 100000 P/A they should do fact check their words !!
