Anyone know when he was awarded his professorship?

Colm held a lectureship in the School of Economics, UCD. Prior to that he had a brief spell, maybe 2 years, in the School of Geography, Planning & Economic Policy, UCD. I think he joined UCD about 2006. He is now retired.
Thanks Kevin. I’m curious as to his professorship. Do you know if this was conferred on him by his colleagues in UCD or is it from another institution?
I was thinking it might be his DJ name. He might be responsible for ’spinning the disks’ at the end of economic symposiums, so everyone can let their hair down after all the graphs and tables, and powerpoint presentations and yappin; so they can have a glass of wine and a little dance. The chairs are rearranged in the hall, and the spinning disco lights turned on. Convivial chatter is broken by the sound of a middle aged man talking into a mike amplified over a too loud sound system: “what’s up y’all, you ready for dancing? coz “The Professor” is in the house.”
Behind the decks is Colm McCarthy and the first song he chooses to play is that Dinosaur Jr classic “Feel the Pain”.
Ah, the cattiness of the academic nomenklatura!
Brings to mind that recurring joke in The Big Bang Theory:
Gablehauser: Hello, boys.
Raj Koothrappali: Dr. Gablehauser
Gablehauser: Dr. Koothrappali
Leonard Hofstadter: Dr. Gablehauser
Gablehauser: Dr. Hofstadter
Sheldon Cooper: Dr. Gablehauser
Gablehauser: Dr. Cooper
Howard Wolowitz: Dr. Gablehauser
Gablehauser: … Mister Wolowitz
Any-hoo you’re dead right, both Wolowitz and McCarthy really need to drop these notions above their station.
