Yeah I think I've seen a few interview videos with him over the years. Seems a really interesting, nice and intelligent person. It soothes that feeling of "guilty pleasure" you get when watching Lethal Weapon!

In the third sequel there's a subplot about people seeking asylum in America and Glover helps them. I assume he had a bit of an input here. Much of his output is non-mainstream or non-action cliché though I've not seen too many of his other films.

Richard Donner (director of LW) is also an interesting fella. He's involved in a campaign to remove the smoking lobby from films made via the studio route. Smoking firms have used film and TV for decades to subtly ply their "cancer sticks".

In the add-on closing credits to SuperManII - The Donner Cut, there is a mention of the smoking in the film, and an apology of sorts from Donner.

Isn't it just?

Danny Glover has been a campaigner for trade union rights for years. A genuine left-winger, not just a Hollywood bleeding-heart liberal.

"re-imagining of the process of democracy "

That's a beautiful phrase that sums up nicely what people are trying to achieve.
