Paddy Moran Commemoration Programme - 8 to 14 March 2011

The 90th anniversary of the execution of Patrick Moran, one of ten Volunteers executed in Mountjoy Prison during the War of Independence, is being marked by a series of events in Dun Laoghaire from Tuesday, March 8th to Monday March 14th, 2011.
Events
Tuesday 8th to Monday 14th March 2011 (excluding Saturday& Sunday) EXHIBITION in Dun Laoghaire Town Hall of artifacts and photographs
9a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. It includes some material not previously exhibited. Entry: FREE
Saturday 12th March 2011- Evening of music, songs, ballads associated with Patrick Moran and his times….with Frances Grehan, Flanagan and Liam Purcell. From 8.00p.m. Venure- Dun Laoghaire Club, 3 Eblana Avenue, Dun Laoghaire.
Entry: FREE /ALL WELCOME. RAFFLE FOR Connolly Shoes Strikers (MANDATE).
Monday 14th March 2011 (The anniversary of execution)
7.00p.m. Mass in the Dun Laoghaire Club premises, 3 Eblana Avenue, Dun laoghaire. Celebrant: Monsignor Dan O’Connor PP, Dun Laoghaire.
8.00p.m. LECTURES on the life and times of Patrick Moran, Dun Laoghaire Club, 3 Eblana Avenue, Dub Laoghaire.
SPEAKERS: May Moran, author of Executed for Ireland and niece of Paddy Moran; Padraig Yeates, author of Lockout: Dublin 1913 and forthcoming A City in Wartime: Dublin 1914-1918.
