RELEGATING RACISM
Apr 9th, 2010 by Sean Baite
Attention should be brought to this post by hxci over on ‘Come Here To Me’ regarding a march tomorrow in memory of Toyoshi Shitta-bey murdered in West Dublin on Good Friday. hxci makes a particular appeal to L of I fans to turn out - but I’m sure the more diverse the turn-out the better.
I have often felt moved to say to idiots coming out with racist shite ‘Would you say that to Paul McGrath or Chris Hughton or Steven Reid or Curtis Fleming ?’ Unfortunately, going by the article by Sporting Fingal’s Eamon Zayed (who has a bit of Tunisian heritage in him), linked to by hxci - there appear to be still those among us that would and do. Going by what happened on Good Friday, there are also those that are prepared to go even further with this pathetic twisted logic.

I was a bit disheartened to see Zayed got that abuse at Pats of all places, I always thought our fans were quite well behaved when it came to this stuff. From what I heard it was coming from the ‘Camac’ too, where the older lot go, and not the new stand where the younger kids are. Shocking.
Lets hope for a good crowd on the Toyoshi demo.
Strange alright, last place you’d expect it. Can’t legislate against idiots though.
