Again, no information here except what’s on the cover.
I’m not sure if this is a demo. It kinda has the feel of a cassette E.P.
Anyway, not exactly my type of music, but it is reflective of the type of stuff being produced in Ireland in the 1980s.

According to Irish Rock discography, the Secret Goldfish were possibly an ‘Atrix related band from the mid-80s?´
I’m afraid there is absolutely no information with the demo, which was recorded on a computer cassette tape (one to explain to the kids, that).

On Wednesday next (February 17), the IFI is showing the classic 1982 sci-fi movie, Tron. Consider this post a public-service announcement: if you haven’t seen Tron yet, here’s your chance.
This was one of the first films I saw in the cinema, back in the day. I saw it again last year at the IFI as […]

I met up with Terry Fagan of the Dublin North Inner City Folklore Project on Friday, to hand over to him a USB key of 97 recordings I’ve digitized from the project’s collection of oral history interviews. The original tapes are stored in the Irish Labour Museum, Beggars Bush, and I’ve been working my way […]

The Boneshakers were fronted by Dave Finnegan and were probably Ireland’s first psychobilly band. They lasted less than a year, but in that time managed to play venues such as the Ivy Rooms and The Underground. They didn’t make any other recordings except this demo. The line-up was:
Dave Finnegan - Vocals
Willo O’Brien - Bass
Dermot Free** […]

I know nothing about this band, except that they were based in Dublin c.1984. I don’t know if they played any gigs. The demo comes from a bag of tapes a friend of mine found in his attic. Thanks again Dave for passing them on.
The names on the demo are (I think):
John Lalor
Steve Potter
Andy Skerritt
Luke […]

What the fuck did he expect? Richard Bruton to step aside and let Lee take his cabinet seat? Leo Varadkar to grow a heart and lose a spine? Enda Kenny to make shrewd and calculating choices?
It’s hard to know which is funnier: that George Lee thought Fine Gael knew (or cared) about the economy, or […]
