DUSTY IN GLENTIES
Jan 26th, 2010 by Sean Baite
I came across the below clip by chance on YouTube. I knew Dusty had Irish origins and a most Irish name but I never knew she got around to doing Irish material. Here she takes up the baton from Margaret Barry (with a harp thrown in for good measure) :

Jesus what a voice. Thanks for that - never heard it before. What I love most about Dusty is the respect she shows to the songs; doesn’t matter what the song is, you never get the sense that she’s trying to put her own stamp on the song, but that she’s just using her remarkable voice to bring the song to its full radiance. Sorry, I’m gushing.
Don’t worry about the gushing - I think I just managed not to but good that there’s some on the post now. The voice shines through the slightly syrupy 60s arrangement alright - and the wee bit of tinkering with the words. She was golddust alright…
