I’m curious about the oppinion of mister eejoint about “your new friend from the West” (meaning me, of course), Conor. He can always speak about the Spanish (you know, the ETA terrorists and so) and… and… oh, boy, there are no more Western countries in Europe… but he can always speak about the latins: thei’re all the same!

While we disagree on this issue Conor (I’m voting yes), you do point out that Dublin Opinion doesn’t have an official position (at least until Donagh decrees one and we respond ‘Credo’). Clearly things are different in Poland where all bloggers have a unified front and speak with one voice, and assume we here do too:

“We, Polish bloggers who acutely follow European politics, have decided to join our fellow Irish bloggers to appeal to the Irish public to vote against the Treaty of Lisbon.”

Hmmm… In case you missed it on the links, these guys seem to equate Lisbon as a harbinger of communism / socialism. One Polish speaker warns in English that many of the petition signatories are writing pretty hateful stuff, whilst an Irish one is calling on the Holy Spirit to intervene!

Then, again, to vote “yes” means casting your ballot in the same way as the likes of Mickey McDowell and Leo Varadkar… FFS.
