JUBILEE ALLSTARS: LAMPLIGHT
Mar 17th, 2009 by Conor McCabe
I’m working on a podcast documentary about the Jubilee Allstars at the moment, and I’m hoping to have it finished by the end of the month. As a bit of a run-up to it, here’s a single they put out with ROAD Records and Alpha Relish in 1999. The song is Lamplight, which ended up on the last album to involve the three McCormack brothers and Lee Casey, Lights of the City.
Enjoy.

1999 ? - is it that long ago since the JA’s were winding things up ?
Always like a tune wi’ a big organ sound (oo’er matron !)…
Remember Dot Creek as doing a few support slots in Whelan’s - can’t remember for whom…
All expectation for the JAs podcast.
They never actually broke up as such, but their last album was recorded in 2001 and was released (vinyl only, 500 copies) in 2004. I’m editing the interviews at the moment. It’s taking so long because I CRINGE every time I hear my voice. Have to edit around it. But, hopefully sometime in April I should have it up.
Isn’t there a freeware effects programme out there that you can put your voice through so that you sound like… say… Micheál MacLiammóir ????
haha!
Oh I wish there was. “OOooo0000000000oooo the JewwwwwwwwballlllleeeeeEEEeeee aaaaallllllllstaaaarrrrrrssssssss”
Yeah, ye’d triple or quadruple the length of the podcast, meeeetheeeeenKKKsss….
