One of those great solid actors who often got the quality directors and camera artists he deserved. His personal generosity was abundant and practical. In Ireland the Barretstown Gang project will be an abiding monument.

EJH, Re the dialogue - I think the lads are doing a Tarkovsky film up there…
Looking at the blurred You Tube frozen frame I thought it was the end of the Great Escape - will I always be a bloody literalist ?
Then I looked at it and there is no literal death involved.
