WE ARE FINE GAEL, HEAR US ROAR
Sep 5th, 2008 by Conor McCabe
Following on from Leo Varadkar’s enthusiastic embrace of the the economic policy of the British National Party (BNP), footage has just come through of another Fine Gael heavyweight working on the party’s next great policy idea.
Enjoy.

Right, that makes me an anti-evolutionist. I don’t want to acknowledge gobpissers as ancestors.
I don’t remember the vicious attacks on Zapatero from this quarter, for actually implementing this scheme…
And that surely ain’t from an ignorance of Spanish politics…
So, if I understand things correctly, Zapatero should be considered worse than the BNP because he actually has put voluntary repartition into place?
That would certainly make a few PP people happy.
What makes you think I’d defend the shoemaker? I had to register as an immigrant when I was over there. It took me the best part of a week, queueing in the immigrant office (twice), then off to the central police station to have my immigrant status validated. All because I was working and paying tax. You’ll find little sympathy for the shoemaker here baby. But then again, the PSOE has a general social policy regarding health, education, women’s rights (including fast-track divorce) , same-sex marriages, Gay rights in general, etc that marks them out as a real alternative to the PP, in much the same way as the Labour party, even under Brown and Blair, is still an alternative to the conservatives. FG’s social policy is peppered with free laptops and headmaster annual reports.
As always with FG, it has a look around for other right wing policies and goes for them. It’s a real case of monkey pee, monkey do.
Conor - it’s not a monkey, it’s an ape - an orang-utang - obviously considerably deranged from captivity. I hope that just after the filming finished, it spat the piss all over the stupid Poncánach fuckers filming..
You might need to ask Aoife, as she’s an expert, but I think the average orang-utang is several times more intelligent than a fine Gael policy thinktank member…
I too had heard the exact same policy coming from Zapotero - but I’ll desist from being as irate as Blah…
See Conor, the point is that you knew that the Spanish had actually implemented this policy. Yet, you made no mention of that and rather took the comfort blanket option of comparing Fine Gael to the BNP. Criticise Fine Gael away, but its worthless and false criticism if it fails to be honest.
Fine Gael is a racist, right-wing party, one that wants the deportation of blacks, but it doesn’t even have the guts to come out and say it. Instead, it tries to sugar-coat its racist policy by comparing itself to the left-wing in Spain! I mean, come on! Are we going to see 24 hour divorce as Fine Gael policy? Same-sex marriage as Fine Gael policy? Housing grants for married Gays? Are we fuck.
What we are going to see, if those fuckers ever get near power, is the scapegoating of the problems of this country.
The fault lines in Ireland’s economy are not with the tiny handful of non-EU citizens who are signing on - the biggest internal problem lies with the enormous power that vested interests in the housing industry wield in this country, that they can dictate government economic policy. I heard Enda Kenny saying there that Fine Gael were telling the government FOR YEARS that there was a problem with housing and the economy. t was in its bollicks.
Here’s what Richard Bruton had to say in 2007 about the economy.
“If I was Minister for Finance I would require every public body to deliver independently audited efficiency improvements of 2% during the course of 2008. I would Defer the pay increases for high earners in the public sector until serious reforms have been delivered that show tangible improvements in performance at the frontline. In addition we should refuse ministers additional funding unless they commit to matching targets that will be delivered in 2008.
“Another important measure would be to hold back a Strategic Reserve Fund from allocation on Budget Day of €500m and require public bodies to bid for new resources on the basis of a plan by them to deliver best practice reforms in priority areas.
“I would also immediately institute an immediate audit of every ‘Quango’ - the purpose to close redundant bodies, to remove areas of duplication and to develop the scope for shared services. We should be targeting key infrastructural deficits for priority action and publish the evaluations of robust NDP projects that can deliver them. E.g. Fast-track an electricity interconnector to the UK.
“My focus in tax and welfare matters would be to concentrate well-targeted changes on pensioners living alone, at the low paid at work, on fuel schemes for low-income families facing rising winter fuel bills, on stamp duty reform to remove inequity and restore confidence in the housing market, on improvements in access to primary healthcare that can take pressure off hospitals.
“Finally, I would look to pump prime important initiatives that can encourage investment by companies and workers in training and targeted R&D at this difficult time when there is a risk that long-term needs will be shelved as resources are tighter.”
Absolutely no mention of the housing crisis. Not only that, it’s pretty much what Brian Lenehin and Cowen have come up with themselves.
There’s a very good reason for the similarities. Fine Gael sucks speculator cock as well.
If Fine Gael were not racist and really wanted to tackle the fault lines in the Irish economy, they’d look to land reform, taxing land speculation out of existence, weaning Ireland away from domestic construction and focusing on the ONLY thing that can keep Ireland going: exports.
Fine Gael isn’t interested in Ireland exporting more goods and services. The only thing Fine Gael wants to export is blacks.
Racist fuckwits.
One thing. The ONLY way that Fine Gael can get into power is with a coalition with Labour. It seems to have lost sight of that little issue. It can NEVER form a government on its own. It’s racist right-wing stance will not wash with Labour voters. What Fine Gael is doing is pushing the moderate left away from itself, and with that its only chance of power.
