FINE GAEL AND EDUCATION: A VOLATILE MIX
Aug 22nd, 2008 by Conor McCabe
All this talk of Fine Gael and education got me thinking about their manifesto last year. So, I went onto their site and downloaded the thing. And what was the burning issue for Fine Gael with regard to education? Was it overcrowding? Was it underfunding? Was it maybe the deplorable state of assessment? Well, here is what was at the top of their manifesto ideas for education in Ireland in the 21st century.
Annual School Reports
We will ensure that all schools publish an Annual School Report, updated at the start of every school year, so that a comprehensive and accessible package of information is available to every parent.
What the fuck? Is this what happens? Fine Gael show up to a school and go, mmhhhmm, needs more annual reports.
The idea of Fine Gael and education reminded me of this.
Enjoy.

Annual School Reports was 1st in a list was it? So I guess that because Agriculture and Food then the Arts and then Communications were the first 3 areas covered in the manly festo that those were the top 3 priority areas for the party too. You’re very reactionary today aren’t ya?
