THE LAST TIME I SAW JEFFREY LEWIS I WENT INSANE
Aug 6th, 2008 by Conor McCabe
I’m just back in from Jeffrey Lewis and the Jitters at Crawdaddy. While I was there I picked up a couple of his comics, one of which he autographed for me. Well, not for me, exactly. My friend Joanne had to go up to him after the gig and ask him to sign it, as I get too star-struck. (Sad, I know.)
Anyway, here’s a clip of one of the songs. “Whistle Past the Graveyard.”
Enjoy.

Ah, the title of this post would probably explain those couple of weeks you took yourself for Ivan the Terrible and thought the Tartars were after you…
Whistling and singing all in the one song - that’s what I call accomplished. He played Toulouse last year - but as ever, I only spotted it on the net 2 months after the gig !
Cool! My friend got one of Jeffrey’s comics (signed, as well) when he saw him support for Stephen Malkmus. Really nice guy, it seems.
Shite, I missed him. I loved 12 Songs by Crass.
Yeah he played a couple of the Crass songs. They sounded really good. I must check out the CD.
Dare I say it . . . better than the originals.
(Exit to cries of “Blasphemer!” “Heretic!” etc.)
