Forrest Hylton on the FARC Miraculous Laptop

More on the Interpol report on the supposed finding of laptops belonging to bombed FARC rebels. ‘What’s really happening with this dodgy laptop story’, asks Pepe Escobar. Forrest Hylton says its part of the US’s propaganda war against Hugo Chavez.

I see BoRev had the gall to raise an eyebrow at Jim Cusack’s Interpol-Venezuela-IRA story. Isn’t he familiar with Cusack’s titanic pedigree? The man is a legend. Or at least his stories are.

Yeah, I think these bloody laptops fall into the long tradition of convenient pretexts like that imaginary attack on a US ship in the Gulf of Tonkin - that telegraph to the German embassy by Bismarck etc. etc.
Excuse my ignorance, but who’s Jim Cusack - unfortunately, he’s not taken up in the ‘Depêche du midi’ or ‘Le Sud Ouest’ ???

If the Indo is anything like its little brother the EH - the Irish paper I was most exposed to when back in Dublin recently, about 50% of their journos would be classed as ‘Security correspondents’ while the other 75% would be ‘Socialite Conspicuous Consumption Correspondents’ - given the make-up of the paper - its favourite subject matters being the latter and ‘law and order’ scaremongering…
And my maths is wonky thanks to May 1968…
Sorry, Interpol did the investigation? Maybe some might have missed the gift we’ve sent this stellar organization which, of course, might leave one to question anything this emblem of policing might be about, eh:

Nice one Geoff - sorry for being so slow to reply. I read this on Saturday. With able bodied, sterling men like that joining Interpol they’ll soon be whitewashing all sorts.
