Did you see that BBC clip where he does precisely that? ...sitting fireside, cardigan, big glasses like magnifying glasses, glass of ale, reading Lovecraft aloud. If you havenae seen it, it's on youtube I don't doubt.

Jim:I better tell you, so, that there’s a new album out on Monday: Imperial Wax Solvent. You heard it here first, probably.

yes, yes, yes, its old news. I read about it today in the intro to this bleedin' piece. Who reads the Guardian anymore, eh? Stinkin' rag, so it is.

sonofstan:Do you reckon MES is consciously modelling his look on Alex Higgins these days

I'm sure he just looks in the mirror and thinks it a happy coincidence, after which he necks another G+T and lights a ciggy.

Alan:They’re stacking up, aren’t they, Fall books?

They must be. As usual, I'm taking you as the authority on all things Fall related. I was wondering though, seeing as this seems to be more 'in his own words', do you think this is going towards his pension. Mind you, I can't ever see him retiring, feet up, glasses on, can of ale by the fireside, reading HP Lovecraft with a magnifying glass.

I got it from Amazon in the post yesterday. Excellent read so far.

Smith says that this is the first time anything has been written about him in his own words - but didn't he co-author the Fall biog with Mick Middles? Shite it was too.

They're stacking up, aren't they, Fall books? I have four so far and I think there are one or two I haven't grabbed yet.

How indeed? You're clearly not paying attention if you missed something about the Fall and you missed something in the Guardian. It begger's banquet (!) that the thing you missed about the Fall was in the Guardian...
