Measly Excuses
Feb 1st, 2008 by Donagh
Warning: This is one of those boring posts about why there has been so little activity on the site of late.
Some readers may have noticed that things have thinned out a bit on Dublin Opinion recently. Well, considering that we’ve been nominated in not one, but a staggering four categories in the Irish Blog Awards – Best Group Blog, Best Political Blog, Best Arts and Culture Blog and Best News and Current Affairs Blog - its worth providing some measly excuses.
First of all Conor, who as some may know lives in Spain at the moment, is currently without an internet connection and is instead concentrating his time on getting history articles together for journals and working on other sundry history projects.
I haven’t been able to write jack because I’ve just moved house, and am also without an internet connection at the moment. I was off work for most of this week and am currently involved in other sundry projects the results of which, I hope, will become apparent soon enough.
Seán Baite now has more time on his hands, unfortunately – reasons given in the post below – but it’s a bit much to expect him to put up posts every day.
However, this desert of content will hopefully be reversed in the coming weeks into a bountiful garden of varied posts on, I dunno, politics, arts and culture, and news stuff – to go by the categories we’re nominated in anyway.
Thanks to anyone who nominated Dublin Opinion in the Irish Blog Awards. I was flabbergasted last year to be nominated and then shortlisted in one category, so its great to be up for four. Unfortunately, the competition in each of them could be fiercer.
Congrats to all those who’ve been nominated and good luck to ye.
And John Waters has been nominated in which category, Donagh ?? :-> Oh, sorry, he’s the MC on the night, right so…

Donagh, since when did you write posts from home?
